Marine Society Wins Seatrade Award

MS Award

I’m delighted to announce that on the 6th May 2016 the Marine Society won the Seatrade Awards prestigious  ‘Investment in People’ category. This was in recognition of the charity’s excellent @Sea online education programmes. The Marine Society’s award winning apps are maritime-themed e-learning courses designed specifically for seafarers to help improve their basic knowledge of maths and English, using nautical language and examples.

The Seatrade Awards, chaired by International Maritime Organization (IMO) Secretary-General Kitack Lim and held at London’s Guildhall, celebrates the maritime and shipping industry’s successes and innovations.

Mark Windsor, Director of Lifelong Learning at the Marine Society said:

“We are delighted to win this prestigious award. It is a result of hard work and dedication from the team and is such a great honour. It marks a very exciting time for the Marine Society.

“To be acknowledged by a panel of industry experts validates all the hard work we have done so far for seafarers.”
