Have you got knowledge to share?

Have you visited the library and can’t find what you’re looking for? Yes, well Officer of the Watch needs you! We rely upon our community of registered members to generate and submit content and we’ve made the process super simple so everyone can help.

Step 1

Submit an artice 1

Login and select new post from the menu bar that appears on the top of your screen.

Step 2

Submit 2Submit 3

Decide on a title and type up the content. You can change the font size and type by toggling the toolbar using the small toggle toolbar button highlighted above. The add media tool allows you to upload and insert pictures, documents, PowerPoints or other helpful media into your article. Have you got a youtube video you think will help? Just copy and paste the URL straight into the main body and the video will be embedded, alternatively click on the youtube button to insert the video using our built in software. If you use the software you will only see a small line of text – don’t worry this is normal and once the article is published the video will be there.

Once you’ve got everything typed up you can review what your article will look like to everyone else by clicking the ‘preview’ button on the right hand side.

If you’re happy with how it looks then select all the categories that apply to your article. If you can’t find any that apply then don’t worry and just leave this section blank. Finally, click submit for review. Your article will then be reviewed by a member of the Officer of the Watch team and posted within 72 hours. If after clicking submit for review you decide you need to change something you can do this by clicking ‘All Posts’. In here you can see all your posts pending review and complete additional editing if necessary.

If you don’t have enough time to write the whole article in one go just click ‘Save Draft’. This stores your article in the ‘All Posts’ so you can come back later and complete it.

That’s it. No complicated coding and you don’t need to have a computer science degree. Just two simple steps and you’re done. Your display name will appear next to the article so everyone else knows who to thank for the submission! If you want a bio description of yourself to appear underneath your article just update your profile and add biographical info in the ‘about yourself’ area of your profile. Remember to read our Community Guidelines prior submitting an article to ensure it complies with them. Should you run into any issues at all you can contact a member of the team who will be able to assist you via the ‘contact us’ section of this site.

How to find an article?

Finding the information you need in the library couldn’t be easier. After entering the library using the button above you will see all of the articles that have been submitted sorted by the most recent first. You can easily find what you need using the search bar on the left hand side of the screen. Alternatively if you would like to view all the articles that are relevant to the course you’re are studying you can do this by selecting your course via the ‘categories’ option on the left hand side. If after searching you still can’t find what you need then please read the ‘can’t find what you’re looking for’ section below.
